Retro: The Very First ITC
A long, long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away, God said, "Let there be Lips!"...Okay so this isn't really about Star Wars and it DEFINITELY isn't about Rocky Horror Picture Show. This is all about a little podcast started oh so long ago... So many years ago on the cold January morning Fil and I set out on a long journey to make a different type of podcast. We figured that maybe, just maybe, you might like to listen in on us when we talked about video games. That maybe a new, "intelligent", video game discussion might just be your style.
This first "Retro" episode of ITC was all about introducing you to who we are and what our goals for the show were. Now obviously we were new to the game and trying to get our feet under us. We didn't know how long these shows would last or even what we really were aiming to do. The sound quality was poor, the equipment raw, and the banter uncontrolled. But God was it fun. So go back with us as we start from the beginning in reliving the journey that led to the gorgeous blog in front of you today.
-John

Hard to believe this was four years ago, isn't it John? Even harder to believe is that somehow we were able to keep the show *going* for four straight years!

-I originally misspelled the domain name when I first registered it.
-For some reason, we were all really into pistachios when we started the podcast. John and I thought it would be a great idea to eat pistachios on each episode. After listening to the first show and hearing the constant popping and snapping, we realized it was a terrible idea.
-I edited out all of the dead space, "ums", "uhhs", etc. from the first episode, thinking I would do it for all episodes. Yeah right.
-"Powering the Console Down" was improvised on the spot by John.
-John sat in my desk chair and I sat on a milk crate during the first show. This was so the Logitech USB desktop mic could be in a good position to pick up both of us, and so I could still be close enough to the computer, which I believe sat on a small lamp table.
