Et tu', Reggie?

We all know what joy it is to put your hands on a Nintendo console. Being the first kid on the block to get the original NES or the screams of elation on Christmas morning, discovering Santa dropped off the Super Nintendo; the only thing you ever wanted. Maybe you remember the gang getting together to play Mario Kart on the 64. Think of the line you stood in overnight with your brother to get your Gamecube. Or even the absolute shock in discovering that your wife conspired to get you a Wii. . . when they were impossible to get. . . from the place you work; you know, the one you almost sold to a buddy. Remember those times fondly, gamers and gametes, for they just may be gone.
As we continue to recap E3 ’08, Phil, John, and Drew dedicate an entire show to the company that promised us a Revolution, and quite possibly has decided to leave the gamer in all of us holding our Wiis. On the next Inside the Console; Requiem for Nintendo.
We don’t want to just give our own opinions; we want to know what you think. Has Nintendo alienated the core gamer for a profit? Do you think there are any “serious” Wii titles? Have you manager to get your hands on a Wii, and if so, do you still play it, or is it collecting dust on the shelf? And tell us what you thought of Nintendo’s E3 press conference. Was it worth your time or a waist of time? Let us know what you think, you’ll most definitely find out what we think on the next show.

Ah nintendo..... a dear friend that has since let us down. ¥ou were once a great leader in gaming, bringing thousands and thousands of kids unlimited joy. Now you left us ol' friend holding our wii.

I do remember the joy and happiness of getting nes and snes games for special occasions, the whole process of saving and waiting with anticipation to get the latest NEW game. Those feelings continued up to the n64 with no thought of ever switching to dark side, or xbox. I was never going to leave my dear friend nintendo for microsoft.... sure you may say fanboy but who really wanted to buy from a company that brought you that great operating system windows?

Even with the gamecube I was stilling taking the company road, although things were starting to look better outside. Still we continued on with the promise of a REVOLUTION. Boy were we suckered.

I heard about this "revolution" and was interested, still playing my cube and not yet buying into the 360. I poked around and around and finally switched to the other side, microsoft. The wii as it was now called brought me back and forth. Nintendo once the leader in gaming was falling fast and hard.

I did want a wii at the start but the thing was so hard to find. I did try hard to locate one for some time but gave up. Its been a year or so and they are STILL NOT regularly on store shelves. Nintendo has let us down. The wii is not that available in stores, lacks great games titles, sucks with online, etc etc.

Would I buy a wii if one was at a store? Who knows... is it really really worth it? I dont know.
